Black Bear Hunt Details

Black Bear Our spring Black Bear Hunt usually runs between mid-May until June 15 depending on the weather. Our fall Black Bear hunt season starts in mid August and weather permitting may go as long as the end of October. Lower Twin Lakes Lodge has its own Bear Management Area (BMA) and we only allow limited number of bear hunters each week to ensure optimal success.

Fall Black Bear Hunting Package Includes

•Fully Guided
•7 nights accommodation with a Saturday 2pm check-in and a 9am Saturday check-out the following week
•80% or better success rate
•Bear Hunt Territory is located in WMU 19 (different to our Moose hunt territory)
•10 weeks pre-baited stands
•Black Bear hunting validation certificate supplied for non-resident hunters
•All roads to WMU 18A, 18B and 19 accessible in close proximity to camp
•Bed linens, pillow and blankets supplied

What is an Outdoor Card:
An outdoor card offers conservation officers a quick way of authenticating your identification and Black Bear hunting license. This card is good for 3 years and must be presented to purchase your fishing or hunting license every year.

What To Bring Bear Hunting:

•Food & Drink (Housekeeping Accommodations)
•Warm Clothes (Never know what the temperature will be)
•Hunter Orange hat and vest
•Previous hunting license CN or US
•Weapon of choice, gun, bow, black powder or crossbow
•Soft guncase or bowcase (legal requirement)
•Bug repellent
•Rain Gear
•Extra Footware/Gloves
•Flash lights (Batteries)
•Binoculars
•Coolers & Freezer Bags for meat
•Hunting knife/sharpener
•Scentlock suit/Scent Killer
•Fishing rod and tackle

Black Bear Hunting Licence is extra and needs to be purchased online (must have an Ontario Outdoors card) or purchase through a licensed MNR office/issuer before arrival at the camp. For more information visit the Ministry of Natural Resources' website:

Canadian Firearms Declaration Form:
You will be required to fill out a temporary gun permit to bring firearms into Canada (Firearm Declaration Form). The fee is $25 payable at the border crossing.

Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Forms are available by emailing cfp-pcaf@rcmp-grc.gc.ca, or by calling 1-800-731-4000 (Canada and U.S.) or 1-506-624-5380 (other countries) and from all Customs offices across Canada. Visit the RCMP web site for more information
